Where you are
Something in you remembers, even when you can’t.
Maybe you know something happened — but the memory is blurry, or missing entirely.
What you can feel is the ache of it: a hole somewhere in you, a heaviness that sits just out of reach. And no matter how hard you try — talking, understanding, pushing through — you can’t quite get to it.
Meanwhile your body reacts before you’ve decided to: the tight chest, the flinch, the anxiety that arrives with no clear reason.
Or it shows up as the pattern you can’t think your way out of — the habit you’ve quit a dozen times, the grief that won’t lift, the worry that won’t settle. You’ve worked at it, and it’s still there, running underneath.
That’s not a failure of effort, and it’s not a character flaw. Trauma and old pain don’t only live in words and memories — they live in the body.
The body doesn’t forget, even when the conscious mind can’t reach what it’s holding. That’s the part hypnotherapy works with — gently, at your pace, with you fully awake and in the room the whole time.
What it actually is
You stay awake. You stay in control.
Let’s clear up what it isn’t, because the movies and stage shows get it wrong.
You don’t lose control. You don’t fall asleep. No one plants ideas in your head or makes you do anything against your values.
There’s no such thing as getting “stuck” — you could stand up and walk out for popcorn at any moment.
What it actually is: a natural, focused state of deep relaxation you drift into all the time — the absorbed feeling of a good movie, or that drift right before sleep.
In therapy, we simply guide you there on purpose. You hear every word, you remember it after, and you’re steering the whole way.
And you don’t have to “believe in it” for it to work. This is a state your mind already knows how to enter — you just have to be willing.
The difference
Hypnosis is the doorway. Hypnotherapy is the work.
There’s a difference worth naming. Hypnosis is the state — that focused, relaxed attention.
Hypnotherapy is what a trained clinician does with it: using that open state to reach the root of a pattern and help it change.
The state is the doorway. The therapy is the work that happens once you’re through it.
How it works
Why willpower alone hasn’t worked.
Picture your mind in two parts. Logic and willpower are a small slice — maybe ten percent.
The other ninety percent is the subconscious: your emotions, habits, and automatic reactions. The patterns you’re fighting live in that ninety, which is why forcing it keeps failing.
They began as protection, stored in the body long before words.
So we work where they live — releasing them through the body with trauma-informed breathwork and gentle Gestalt energy release, not just talk.
What we help with
What people come to us for.
People bring all kinds of things to this work.
Hypnotherapy isn’t a cure or a guarantee — it’s a way of working with the deeper mind that many people find reaches what other approaches couldn’t.
What it can do for you, we’ll talk through before we start.
Anxiety
The kind of stress that won’t switch off — a mind that keeps scanning even when you’re safe. We work with the part underneath the worry, not just the thoughts on top.
Trauma & PTSD
When something hard is still living in the body. We go gently, often alongside EMDR, and never faster than feels safe.
Grief & Transitions
Loss, endings, the ground shifting under you. A place to let what’s stuck begin to move.
Habits — Smoking & Vaping
The habits you’ve quit a dozen times. We work with the parts of you the cravings speak for, so being done can actually hold.
Weight & Food
It was never really about the food. We work the patterns and feelings underneath, so change comes from the roots.
Sleep
For the mind that won’t power down at night. We help your system learn the way back to rest.
Confidence & Self-Worth
The voice that talks you down. We reach the moment it first took hold and let a truer belief take root.
People-Pleasing
The habit of putting everyone else first. We work with the part that learned keeping others happy was how to stay safe.
Fears & Phobias
The fear that’s bigger than the moment calls for. We help the part holding it feel safe enough to loosen its grip.
The method
Our approach is Heart-Centered.
We practice Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy — and here, that name is how the work is done, not just a label.
We also bring our own lineage to this. As Native clinicians, the work moves the way our teachings do — from the head to the heart.
We treat you as a whole person, in relationship with everything around you — so the goal isn’t just easing a symptom, but living in a good way, and in balance.
No two sessions look the same. We meet what comes up with compassion, go at your pace, and hold the space while you do the healing — you’re always the author.
- Root-cause work, not just surface relaxation
- Held with compassion, never judgment
- You set the pace — we build safety first
- Ego State Therapy and EMDR, woven in when they fit
- You leave each session with a recording to keep settling at home
Every clinician who offers hypnotherapy here is a Native therapist trained in the Heart-Centered model — so you get the same depth of care whoever you work with.
Trauma-informed
When trauma is part of the picture.
Most people who find their way to us are carrying trauma — and many can’t point to a single clear memory of it. That’s normal, not a gap in you.
When something overwhelms us, it’s often stored in the body and nervous system instead of as a story we can recall — so you feel the effects without the narrative that would explain them.
This is where hypnotherapy reaches what talk alone often can’t. We work with the body’s felt memory at a pace that always feels safe — so the old charge can release without reliving the worst of it, and without needing to remember every detail.
We weave in what fits — EMDR, one of the most-researched trauma therapies there is, along with parts work and breathwork — and go only as far as you’re ready. The goal isn’t to dig up the past; it’s to help your nervous system finally learn it’s safe now.

Our Approach
Healing that actually reaches the root.
Most people find us after years of talk therapy that helped them understand their patterns but never quite changed them. What’s different here isn’t willpower or another technique — it’s the combination: EMDR, neurofeedback, and hypnotherapy, woven together with Indigenous healing, aimed at the nervous system where change actually happens.
After thousands of sessions, here’s what we see again and again: people who felt stuck for years start to feel regulated, clearer, and more like themselves — often faster than they expected, and in a way they can see, not just feel.
Rooted in Indigenous wisdom. Led by Native clinicians. Open to everyone.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
No. You’re aware the whole time, you can hear everything, and you can stop whenever you want. Hypnosis is focus, not surrender.
Hypnosis is the state — a relaxed, focused calm. Think of it as the doorway. Hypnotherapy is the actual healing work we do once you’re through it. On its own, hypnosis can relax you or offer a helpful suggestion; hypnotherapy goes further, gently reaching the root of a pattern so it can release. We use the state — the therapy is the point.
Most people describe deep relaxation and a kind of soft, clear focus. Like the moment before sleep, but present.
Almost certainly, yes. You already slip into a hypnotic state every night in the moments before sleep — we’re simply guiding you there on purpose. Some people worry they’ll “resist,” but resistance is usually just nervousness, and it softens once you feel safe. If it comes up, that’s not a roadblock — it’s the first thing we gently work through together.
No. There’s no dramatic trance you have to reach for this to help. Even a light, relaxed state is enough to do real work — most of the change happens in that calm, focused place, not in how “far under” you go. We follow your pace, never a stopwatch or a depth chart.
No — we work with adolescents, teens, and adults, and we’re trained for all three. For younger clients a parent is part of the process, and we’ll make sure it’s the right fit at your intake.
About 90 minutes. Hypnotherapy needs room — time to settle in, do the deeper work, and come back gently — so we don’t rush it.
Both. We meet in person in South Jordan, UT and St. Charles, MO, and online across UT, MO, and AZ.
For online sessions, a little setup lets the work go as deep as it does in person. Beforehand we’ll confirm your location and an emergency contact, and you’ll set up a comfortable space where you can lie down — a bed, a mat, or the floor all work.
Have a few things within reach: pillows and a blanket, tissues, water, something soft to push or hit down with (a foam bat, a spatula, even a shoe), a stuffed animal, and an ice pack or heating pad. We’ll walk you through all of it.

It depends on what you’re working with. Some people feel a shift in one or two; deeper patterns take a few more. We’ll set expectations honestly at your intake.
Very few, and they’re mild and short-lived. Some people feel a little groggy right afterward — like waking from a deep nap — or an emotion may surface and move through. It settles quickly, and every session ends by bringing you gently back and grounded before you go.
Hypnotherapy is gentle, but it isn’t the right starting place for everyone. For someone in active psychosis, experiencing severe dissociation, living with unmanaged seizures, or under the influence of substances, we’d focus on stabilizing, first-line care before this kind of work.
That’s what your intake is for — we make sure it’s a safe, good fit before we begin, and help you find the right support if it isn’t.
It’s a fair thing to ask. Our work does include age regression — gently revisiting where a feeling began — and sometimes memories do surface. What matters is how we hold them: not as literal fact or proof of exactly what happened, but as what your mind is bringing forward to help your system understand and heal. We never suggest what “must have” happened to you or lead you toward a conclusion, and you stay aware and in control the whole time. The goal is healing and relief — not building a case about the past.
No — they’re different tools, and we use both. In EMDR you stay fully awake and alert while gentle back-and-forth (eye movements or tapping) helps your brain reprocess a stuck memory; it’s one of the most-researched trauma therapies there is. Hypnotherapy works in a relaxed, focused state to reach the root beneath a pattern. When trauma is part of the picture, we weave EMDR into the work — but it isn’t hypnosis.
It’s a recognized clinical tool with a long research history, practiced here only by licensed clinicians. We keep it grounded — culturally attuned.
Hypnotherapy is self-pay — we don’t bill insurance for it. Packages and financing are available, and you’ll always get a Good Faith Estimate before we begin. See our Investment page for current rates.
Yes. Your sessions are confidential and protected under HIPAA. Nothing you share leaves the room — not to family, not to your doctor — without your written permission. If coordinating with another provider you’re seeing would help your care, we’ll always ask you first.
Often, yes. The mind and body aren’t separate systems. Tension, restless sleep, fatigue, headaches, a tight stomach — these can all carry an emotional root. As the nervous system settles and what’s underneath gets resolved, those physical symptoms often ease right alongside it.
Yes — it’s called Trim-Life, our Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy weight-release program. Instead of another diet, it works with what’s underneath the eating: the emotions, stress, and old patterns that quietly drive it. When those are resolved at the root, change finally has a chance to last. You can do Trim-Life one-on-one or as part of a small group — reach out and we’ll help you find the right fit.
Ready when you are.
